About us
With over 23 years of experience in the building and construction industry, David Canciello leads Davita Consulting as Director, specialising in Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) solutions. David’s journey began with a formal education in electronics at RMIT, followed by 15 years in the electronics field, where expertise in problem solving, technical installations, certifications, and customer support was developed.
Building on this foundation, David Canciello pursued further qualifications in building design and architectural drafting, gaining a decade of experience within a Building Design Practice. This path led to a focus on ESD principles and a role as a Thermal Performance Assessor.
Throughout a diverse career, David has contributed to a wide range of projects, from high-rise towers to individual residences, and has delivered energy ratings for many of Melbourne’s most prominent apartment developments. David has also played a key role in strategic research for Federal and State Governments.
At Davita Consulting, David Canciello works with a team of industry experts to provide end-to-end ESD solutions throughout the building and construction lifecycle. Driven by a passion for environmental impact and industry excellence, David is committed to upholding the highest standards and making a positive difference in the industry.
David is a highly qualified and accredited NatHERS (Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme) assessor, specialising in both new and existing homes. David demonstrates a strong commitment to upholding industry standards and best practices in residential energy efficiency. With dual accreditations, David is equipped to provide comprehensive energy assessments, helping homeowners and builders optimize the thermal performance and sustainability of their properties. David’s expertise ensures that clients receive reliable guidance on improving energy ratings, reducing environmental impact, and achieving compliance with regulatory requirements.
Our Services
We offer comprehensive NatHERS for new homes assessments for residential buildings and provide expert advice to builders, architects, homeowners, and other professionals.
We also provide NatHERS for Existing homes assessments.
NatHERS existing homes is an expansion of the Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS) to provide energy performance ratings for homes that have already been built. This national system uses a star rating (0-10) to assess how energy efficient a home is and It also includes Whole of Home that predicts a home’s total annual energy use by including major appliances, hot water systems, heating, cooling, lighting, and solar generation and storage (solar panels and battery storage). The program will help homeowners understand their home's energy performance, identify cost-effective upgrades, and lower energy bills.
